Orléans walnut vinegar 25cl MARTIN POURET
122466
Made according to the Orléans vinegar-making tradition, this vinegar is made from the finest French grape varieties and slowly fermented for three weeks in oak barrels, giving it a unique taste inherited from centuries-old know-how. Its nutty fragrance will sublimate your chicory salads with walnut kernels and Roquefort crumbs.
Since 1797, Martin Pouret has been bringing out the best acidity in vinegar by ageing it in oak barrels in the Orléans tradition.
During the Renaissance, when wine was being transported from the south of France to Paris, some of it underwent a second fermentation. Set aside in Orléans, they were taken care of by the Maîtres Vinaigriers, of whom there were 400 at the time, who transformed them into vinegar. The Orléans method has become the absolute benchmark for vinegar, like the Champagne method for sparkling wine. The only company to perpetuate this technique, Maison Martin-Pouret and its Master Vinegar Makers continue to pursue this quest for excellence, for the tables of gourmets the world over.
