The Échiré butter factory, in Deux-Sèvres, was set up in 1894 next to a flour mill with an abundant and very pure source of water. The entire production of Échiré butter is supervised there by a master butter maker in order to offer you high quality products throughout the year. The taste and the unique texture that you find in these butters are due to the churning of the creams in a wooden churn, an ancestral know-how that is increasingly rarely used.

Since 1894, Beurrerie Échiré, located in the Deux-Sèvres region, has embodied French dairy excellence through its unchanged ancestral know-how. The gold standard for pastry chefs and restaurateurs, this Charentes-Poitou PDO butter is distinguished by its slow maturation of the cream for 18 hours and traditional churning in wooden barrels for 2½ hours. This artisanal method gives the butter a smooth texture and a delicate nutty flavour, particularly sought after for professional laminating butter used in exceptional puff pastries. The company also offers premium milk, collected every 48 hours from local farmers, offering a creaminess and notes of crème fraîche that are ideal for the most demanding culinary preparations.
