Isigny Sainte-Mère butter is renowned worldwide for the flavor of its Isigny Sainte-Mère milk, a dairy grand cru naturally rich in nutrients. Its excellence has been recognized since the end of the 16th century and is the result of traditional know-how that is still relevant today. It is a butter that is both creamy and supple, and "stable" when cooked. It benefits from an exceptional terroir, on the borders of the Cotentin and the Bassin d'Isigny-sur-Mer. The mild and temperate climate of the seaside grows grass full of mineral salts and trace elements. This richness is found in the milk of the cows which gives a butter with an inimitable aroma, smoothness and color.
On an oceanic land of 35 km² that one would think made for dairy production, a traditional cooperative which belongs to the producers and works their fresh milk according to the rules of the art.
The Isigny-Sainte-Mère Cooperative works only over a geographical collection area of 35 km² in the Cotentin and the Basin around Isigny-sur-Mer. From an opulent herbage vintage, a veritable “butter and cream fountain” linked to rich and fertile soils (alluvium, 170 days of rain per year ideally distributed, mild temperatures in summer and mild winters). The result is a milk rich in mineral salts, trace elements and oleic fatty acids. The dairy belongs to the producers and processes the milk collected within 48 hours in a traditional way.See all products in this range
