Chestnut honey tubo 1.5kg AGRIMONTANA
119258
This 1.5 kg jar of Chestnut Honey is made from the nectar of chestnut flowers and is 100% pure honey. It is harvested in the province of Cuneo (Piedmont, Italy).
This chestnut honey is distinguished by its organoleptic characteristics:
► Consistency: Liquid, with a slow crystallisation process, not always smooth.
► Colour: More or less dark amber with reddish/greenish hues. Turns brown when crystallised.
► Taste and flavour: Not very sweet, normally acidic and bitter, with tannic and astringent notes.
► Smell: Characteristic (aromatic, pungent, acrid, sometimes woody or tannic).
Professional culinary uses:
Chestnut honey is highly prized by professionals for its strong character and bitter notes, which are ideal for counterbalancing sugar:
► Pastry and ice cream: Its pronounced taste, which is less sweet than floral honeys, makes it perfect for desserts requiring a strong honey flavour.
► Savoury cuisine: Excellent with strong cheeses (goat, sheep, mature cheeses) or for making sweet and savoury sauces (glazes for game, marinades).
► Beverages: Ideal for sweetening herbal teas or teas for those looking for a more full-bodied flavour.
► Presentation: The tub format (jar) is practical for handling and storage in the kitchen.
Storage and use tips:
► Storage: Store at room temperature in a cool, dry place away from moisture and heat.
► Use: As the honey is liquid, it is easy to measure out. If crystallisation occurs, the honey can be liquefied by gently heating it (in a bain-marie) without exceeding 40°C.
