Archipelago Bread | Finland 240g ABY
151041
This malted bread, dense and rich in flavour, is a traditional Finnish speciality from the Archipelago region off the south-west coast of Finland, from which it takes its name. Traditionally served with fish soup, it also accompanies smoked salmon, fish spreads and cold meats. On the sweet side, its mild flavour is ideal with seasonal fruit. This bread can also be eaten as a hard bread: cut into thin slices and dried in the oven, it becomes firmer and crunchier, to be enjoyed as is or with toppings. Vegan, it is also suitable for people with lactose intolerance and can be kept in the fridge for two months.
Enhanced by the Finnish midnight sun, gastronomic treasures from some of Finland's finest artisans
Carefully selected, these products from small Finnish producers are free from additives and colourings. They are rich in flavour thanks to the midnight sun, which also provides them with an exceptional quantity of nutrients and a high level of natural sugars. Rye petals are incredibly fine and resistant to humidity, retaining all their crunch even when garnished. Not very sweet and very rich in petals, the preparation of roses is made exceptional by the extreme conditions of the Far North. The sweet malted bread of the Archipelago is a must for both savoury and sweet compositions.
