The Pink Lady apple is a premium variety of apple originating in France, recognisable by its distinctive pink-red colour on a yellow-green background. Supplied to you by Le Delas in Rungis, the Pink Lady is highly prized for its extra-crisp flesh, its sweet, slightly tart flavour and its characteristic floral aroma, making it a premium apple for eating raw. Culinary uses: Pink Lady apples are suitable for a variety of uses, mainly raw: ► Raw consumption: Ideal as a dessert fruit or cut into pieces in mixed salads and fruit bowls. Their crisp flesh and low susceptibility to oxidation are a real asset. ► Juices and smoothies: Used to make apple juice or smoothies, providing a good balance of flavour. ► Baking: Can be used in pies or crumbles, although other varieties are sometimes preferred for long cooking times in order to retain their crunchiness when eaten. ► Accompaniment to cheese: Used in thin slices on a cheese platter.
