Produced from a 4.5-hectare vineyard with vines averaging 40 years of age, this wine stands out for its 100% Merlot single-varietal profile. To highlight the grape's natural purity and crisp character, the estate opts for a three-week vinification process in stainless steel and concrete tanks, followed by subtle aging—10% in amphorae and 90% in tanks. The result of the 2022 vintage is a perfectly balanced wine with great fruity richness—both easy-drinking and refined—offering a contemporary alternative to traditional oaky wines. Professional uses, serving, and storage: ► Culinary applications: Thanks to its suppleness and well-integrated, mellow tannins, this wine excels in dynamic settings such as by-the-glass service or as part of a cocktail reception. On the nose, its intense red hue exudes aromas of black fruits, plums, and violets. It is an ideal pairing for platters of artisanal charcuterie, country-style terrines, or duck rillettes. At the table, its aromatic delicacy and freshness-focused profile work wonders with characterful white meats, such as veal loin with morels, pork tenderloin, or roasted poultry. Located in Saint-Sulpice-de-Faleyrens, in the heart of the prestigious Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation, Château des Rêves is a hidden gem of a 4.5-hectare vineyard. Centered around a winemaker's house built in the 15th century, its vineyard benefits from an exceptional loamy-clay-gravel terroir that is particularly well-drained. Managed according to the principles of sustainable viticulture, the vineyard's grape varieties are dominated by Merlot (nearly 90%), complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon. Thanks to vines with an average age of 30 to 50 years and meticulous craftsmanship in both the vineyard and the cellar, the estate produces top-tier wines. The wines are distinguished by their deep garnet color, their dense and harmonious tannic structure, and their complex notes of black berries and roasted flavors, offering restaurateurs and sommeliers perfect wines for aging.
