Sourced from a secluded vineyard where the vines have reached excellent maturity, this wine flourishes on high-quality loamy-clay-gravel soil. The 2022 vintage, warm and refined (awarded a score of 93–94/100 by critic James Suckling), is a blend dominated by Merlot and complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon. Traditionally vinified for three weeks in stainless steel and concrete tanks, it undergoes careful aging for 18 months in French oak barrels (40% of which are new). The result is a rich, generous, and harmonious wine, adorned with a deep garnet color, offering a silky finish and remarkable character. Professional uses, service, and storage: ► Culinary pairings: With its dense structure and harmonious tannins, this great Bordeaux red is the perfect companion for hearty meals. On the nose, it unfolds a complex bouquet of black berries and subtle roasted notes that pair masterfully with high-quality cuts of red meat. It is the ultimate pairing for a beautiful rib of beef grilled over vine shoots, a dry-aged ribeye, or a spiced roasted duck breast. Its roundness and richness on the palate also pair beautifully with game birds, stews such as wild boar civet, and platters of aged, uncooked pressed cheeses (farm-style Saint-Nectaire, aged Cantal). ► Serving: To allow this Grand Cru to fully express the complexity of its aromatic profile and soften its tannic structure at the table, it is strongly recommended to decant it about 2 hours before serving. For optimal enjoyment immediately upon serving, serve it at a controlled temperature of around 18°C. ► Storage: Store bottles lying down in a professional wine cellar, away from light and vibrations, at a constant temperature between 12°C and 14°C. Centered around a winemaker's house built in the 15th century, its vineyard benefits from an exceptional loamy-clay-gravel terroir that is particularly well-drained. Managed according to the principles of sustainable viticulture, the vineyard's grape varieties are dominated by Merlot (nearly 90%), complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon. Thanks to vines with an average age of 30 to 50 years and meticulous craftsmanship in both the vineyard and the cellar, the estate produces top-tier wines.
