Sardine in organic olive oil vintage 2024 french origin box 115g LA COMPAGNIE BRETONNE
128052
A limited edition range of sardines in organic first-press olive oil, prepared using traditional methods. It pays tribute to the cannery's long-standing expertise and the creative work of contemporary artists from the region, turning the tins into genuine collector's items. Processed whilst fresh, the fish are sourced from the ports of Lorient, Concarneau, Douarnenez and Saint-Guénolé in Brittany, and occasionally from Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie in the Vendée. Once fully matured, they are plumper, making them tender and full of flavour. They are de-tailed and packed by hand. Cooked in the traditional way, they are fried in oil, which allows them to caramelise better once in the tin and improve with age. Highly prized by sardine lovers, this cooking method allows them to age beautifully in their tins. To preserve them properly, it is advisable to turn them over every six months. For its 2024 vintage, the tinned sardines have teamed up with the artist Jean-Yves Pennec, who transforms the poplar wood of crates and baskets salvaged from markets. Through meticulous cutting and assembly, the artist deconstructs and reconstructs this raw material to create a unique work of art. This limited edition, which is both authentic and eco-friendly, is a prime choice to enhance your end-of-year promotions or your delicatessen shelves.
