Montbazillac Domaine de la Croix 2019
197835
The Domaine de La Croix has been a family property for 7 generations, located in the heart of the Monbazillac vineyard, the largest sweet appellation in the world. This vineyard is now managed in a reasoned way, and the estate is HVE 3 certified.
The quality of Monbazillac wine makes it the most consumed sweet wine in France. Facing north, the Monbazillac vineyard enjoys a particular temperate climate. During the autumn, under the action of the morning mists combined with the heat of the afternoon sun, a microscopic fungus "Botrytis Cinerea" forms. The development of noble rot then allows the development of this high quality sweet wine. It comes from a selection of the most beautiful "noble grains" of the estate: Sémillon, Muscadelle. Her dress is light golden. Its nose on candied apricot. Supple, fat, unctuous, it fills the mouth well with the flavor of pears and apricots, with a nice balance. It is eaten between 6 and 8°C and goes particularly well with foie gras, grilled pear and Roquefort sandwiches, chocolate desserts or lightly spiced Asian-inspired dishes.
