ORGANIC ASPARAGUS OF EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY AND CONSISTENCY

These young asparagus fields were planted on a forest floor following a series of storms in 2009. It is the largest organic asparagus farm in France, and its high quality standards are the influence of its founder, Count Alexandre de Lur-Saluces, who is also the owner of the famous “Château de Fargues” range of Sauternes wines. The ultra-modern equipment used means that asparagus can be chilled immediately once harvested, before being put through a highly selective sorting process involving a camera which photographs each spear 10 times to determine its quality class and product category. Le Delas sells only Category 1 asparagus (the best of 3 quality classes) produced by this extraordinary operation, guaranteeing an aesthetically-consistent end product: asparagus spears that are perfectly white, straight, fresh and with closed buds.
