Bordeaux wines: white Bordeaux, Sauternes....
This Sauternes Nectar d'Or 2023 from Barton & Guestier is a French sweet white wine made from Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The grapes are harvested manually, berry by berry, with only those affected by noble rot (Botrytis cinerea) being selected. The vines grow on soils composed of gravel, limestone and clay, benefiting from an oceanic microclimate regulated by the Ciron River, which promotes the development of Botrytis. After pressing, alcoholic fermentation takes place partly in vats and partly in barrels, and the wine is partially aged in oak barrels to bring complexity and depth. Its intense, brilliant golden colour reveals a complex and elegant wine, with a refined nose combining pineapple, apricot, acacia and honey. On the palate, it is smooth, persistent and fruity, with notes of candied orange that prolong the pleasure. This wine, carefully selected by Le Delas, your wholesaler in Rungis, perfectly illustrates the quintessence of great Sauternes, combining aromatic finesse, balance and elegance.
